Our Swedish pals
Category: Swedish epals Date 2007-11-28 00:46:39
We have put in contact through the epals.com website with a group of adult students from Tidaholm in Sweden. It has been very well accepted by all the students and communication by email has been started. We think it is a good tool for real commucication in the English language as well as for knowing a bit more about Sweden. You will find the epals link in our links section.
All the best from La Puebla de Alfindén (Spain).
PS: Our Swedish pals are just creating a blog , have a look at it through this link http://a-linjen.blogspot.com
ADJECTIVES FOR DESCRIBING PEOPLE
Category: Survival kit Date 2007-11-24 01:39:32
Good evening everyone,
In this attached file I enclose a lot of adjectives you can use for describing people. You have enough room in the right column to write down the explanation or an example to clarify the meaning of each word. We will work with it in class.
Have in mind that some of these adjectives can also be used to describe situations or ideas.
If you try to do your best, we will know the best of you. Take care,
Loli

FINDING THE PRESIDENT
Category: Compositions Date 2007-11-22 19:53:25
Madrid, 14th January , 02:40 AM
We were returning from a party late at night, we were walking in a solitary and dark street in downtown.
We met Mr. Zapatero. He was walking like a normal person, without bodyguards.
- Excuse me, it’s possible that you are Mr. Zapatero the president of Spain? You are very similar to him.
(He saw us with a strange face and said to us:)
- Finally I find someone! I got lost and unconscious for…..I can’t remember for how many hours. I was in a meeting and I went to the toilette because I felt a bit sick and now I´m here.
I was excited and I said to him:
- You have no idea how great it´s to meet you. You have been disappeared for a week. Everybody is looking for you. It is believed you were kidnapped by a terrorist group.
In that moment the President put a surprised face and said:
- Oh my God, I can’t believe it. And what happened in these days?
At this moment we have the temptation of helping him to keep disappeared for a bit more.
But finally, we take him to the police and we were rewarded by this action. Now we
are as famous as the President and every channel wants to interview us.

EDUCATION IN JAPAN AND IN KENYA
Category: Listenings Date 2007-11-20 22:22:25
Hello everybody,
During this week, we are dealing with one of the topics you proposed at the beginning: Education in different countries.
We are comparing and contrasting the education in Japan and in Kenya.
After making some searches, deductions and hypotheses about both educational systems, we are going to watch two short videos focusing on the matter. (Just click above in the highlighted phrase). This activity can go into a deep debate about many educational and social aspects.
I hope you find this activity interesting enough to get involved in it.
Best wishes,
Loli
