-
To plan a meeting (how to do it) or building up an agenda.
INPUTS:
-
To listen to English native speakers (language models)
-
To listen and understand the lyrics of different singers with video clips, karaokes or MP3 format (U2, Eminem, The Beatles, ACDC, Elvis...)
TOPICS:
-

-
The present youth.
-
TV programs and their influence in the society (trash programs and News).
-
How to contrast the information we received everyday by different means or media, analyse the sources from where it is conveyed under a critical and open mind.
-
Differences among cultures (and influences among them, integrating cultures in a country).
-
Materialistic society (values in our society).
- Common social problems from people around us.
- English people life style.
- United Kingdom (different cities, geography,...) and other countries around the world where English language is spoken.
- Political problems in Spain (things that affect us everyday).
- International EXPO 2008 in Zaragoza.

- Computer's world. The Internet. Technical vocabulary about computers and technical services in order to get through a complaint, to ask for information, to give some technical details...
Well, we will have a look to all this and we will decide our educational steps.
Best wishes,
Loli

PLANNING THE COURSE
Category: Business Course Date 2007-10-01 16:17:13
After we have met each other, it's time to plan the contect of this English course.
I could suggest you different subjects, activities and projects, but I think it would be worthy you would participate in this choice.
So, please, in couples try to put on a list some subjects you would be interested to work in. Feel free to express all your expectations in both sides, what you think it would be good for your job and for your personal likes.
You can think of general or specific topics, like the labour market, computer's world, advertising, globalization, environment, European countries and cultures, life style, people roles in this 21th century society... and specific skills like answering the phone, writing emails, running a little conference, organizing a meeting planning, participating in an informal or formal conversation and so on.
You can propose leisure topics, your favourite singers and songs, films or TV series, magazines and newspapers...
But at the same time you name all your proposals, try toexplain a little more about the way to focus on these matters, I mean to learn something more about them, for example to know specific vocabulary and expressions, to look for information about it, to make a radio broadcast, a power-point, a conference, a video recording, an essay, to listen and watch to English native speakers, ...
I really hope that we all together can plan an interesting and motivating English Business Course.
Take care,
Loli
