And if you haven't still received any answer, try it again sending another email, you can tell them about our life style here in Spain to compare it with the Swedish life style or just about your daily routines to compare with them.

Take care,

TASK 1.- Spanish topics

Category: Tasks 07/08 Date 2008-01-25 00:41:37

SPANISH STEREOTYPES

- What do you think about the stereotypes of Spaniards? Are they true or false?

Some of these stereotypes have something of truth, because they belong to a real description of a small and characteristic part of the Spaniards.

- Can you describe any example?

Yes, of course, for example many people think that all the Spaniards are shorts and  brown but it's only true in a fifty per cent.  Another example could be that many foreign people think that all the Spaniards dance flamenco and go frequently to see bullfighters and these two topics are not as usual as many of them believe.

- In some countries, do they think there are many parties everyday around the Spanish cities?

Young people think that we are going to parties everyday and every time, never sleep!!

- Is that correct or is it another topic?

As we say in the beginning there is some of truth on this, but we also have to say that young people work everyday even at the weekends. Making statistics, Spain is the country all over Europe which works more hours, but its productivity rate is lower compared with these number of hours.

- And, what about cultural and social level?

Nowadays the educational level is the lowest of Europe due to our educational system (the LOGSE) which has a lot of problems. Nevertheless, Spanish development has been quite good during the last two decades.

TASK 1.- Our uncle

Category: Tasks 07/08 Date 2008-01-25 00:25:24

His name´s Juan. He´s fifty years old.

During many years, he decided to do of his life an adventure.

Since we were babies, we saw a tall and good-looking man who appeared and vanished from home, he´s our uncle.

Our mother has got seven brothers, they are three brothers and four sisters. He´s the elder brother.  We called him "the traveller".

He studied archaeology and he started to travel every summer. When he returned, he told us his fantastic adventures.  He narrated his voyages to Egipt, Peru, Mexico, Thailand, Argentina, Jordania, China...

He has travelled by bus, by car, by ship, by plane...

He rode horses and camels, but above all he walked with his rucksack.

Sometimes he got lost, he wispered us, but he always found good people who helped him.

He didn´t sleep in hotels because he loves sleeping on the open air.

Eventually, yesterday he came back with his last surprise: he has married. His wife is Chinese. She´s a beautiful woman and we like her black hair.

We don´t know, but we feel that... this is another great adventure!
