DAILY ROUTINES

Category: Elementary Tasks Date 2012-11-23 18:08:04

Hello class,

I´m going to describe my daily routine.

I usually wake up at half past seven, after I wake my kids and my wife up.

We brush our teeth, wash our face, comb our hair and we get dressed.

At eight o´clock we have breaksfast and  we usually get ready to go to school at quarter to nine . We usually go walking there.

I go to the gym on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, because on Monday and Wednesday I go to English classes.

At midday I prepare our meal and  do the housework.

At present, I don´t work.  So, I´m a househusband.  I take care of my house and my family.

I collect my kids at school at five o'clock and go back home,  then they do their homework.

At midnight, I often look for a job on the internet, I visit different  websites  and I study English.

At the weekend, I like to enjoy with my family and friends.

Sometimes, we travel by car to Obon, our village, and to Tarragona.

See you soon.

Do you want to make an excursion?

There are several places that are worth knowing in Abu Dhabi:

 SHEIKH ZAYED MOSQUE:

Commonly known as the great mosque. The Sheikh Zayed mosque is one of the largest mosques in the world and without a doubt, one of the most impressive. It´s open to the public from 9:00 hours to 12:00 hours every day less on Wednesdays.  Every day at 10:00 there is a free guided tour.

MERITAGE VILLAGE:

Open air museum where you can see the way of life of the inhabitants of the Emirates before the discovery of oil.

MARINA MALL:

One of the best known city malls . If you go, don´t miss its  fountain.

PROMENADE:

It´s known as “Corniche”. The promenade of Abu Dhabi is a nice place to stroll.

And if you are looking for  stronger sensations, just go following the rich way of life and the entertainment can’t be lower since from 2009 the F1 came to the city.

FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX.

“An experience like no other” It’s written in the official tourism page.
Built in Yas island, the Yas Marina Circuit, has got the ultimate and most advanced technologies which will be a referent in next race’s circuits constructions. Of course it has got special buildings such as private tower  for the sheik, a hotel with a view to the circuit or the passage through the port where you can watch the race comfortably from your yacht. Don’t forget that the circuit has got illumination and the races will be developed at the end of the day, from evening to night because the weather is too much hot before.

And talking about F1, we can’t forget all the world around it where maybe the most important thing are the F1 racing teams. And talking about team, we can’t forget maybe the most fashionable team: Ferrari.

And Ferrari has a place in the island too, called:

FERRARI WORLD ABU DHABI

The world’s first Ferrari theme park. Opened on 4th November 2010 there is a whole world around a rampant horse’s mark. A place where the attractions, shops and expositions turn around Ferrari and you can watch and enjoy cars, pictures, fashionable clothes, movies and even more.

- Would you like to travel there?

- What do you think about this kind of luxurious lifestyle?

- Would you be able to live in the dessert?

DESCRIBING PERSONAL ROUTINES, WHO IS HE? I AM GLORIA

Category: Elementary Tasks Date 2012-11-23 11:45:24

Hello  classmates, I am Gloria.

I am going to describe someone and I'm also going to speak about his routine.

He considers himself  "very important" but he isn´t so necessary.

He is a Spanish man, he lives in Madrid but he was born in Santiago de Compostela and he is fifty-seven years old.

He is tall and he has a beard and wears glasses.

I THINK:

He gets up at 7 o' clock and he has breakfast at 8 o´clock.

He speaks very much but I don´t listen to him because I´m quite tired of him, I mean, fed up.

He only knows a little English and he thinks people don´t need the language.

He doesn´t take the bus to go to work because he goes to work by car, he works in Moncloa.

He says: "The people have work and I haven't increased taxes ..."

He doesn´t go to the gym, he doesn´t cook, he doesn´t listen to anyone but he sleeps at night.

From Monday to Sunday he usually eats in a restaurant.

Can you guess who is he?

He is our Prime Minister.

When are you coming to visit me? by Chelo

Category: 2.- Future plans Date 2012-11-22 09:49:38

My sister lives in London and she’s wishing  we  visit her soon.

If we went on holidays next summer, we would like to go there.  My daughters are very happy every time we go to London. They love it. Laura, my older daughter, has been studying English there some times, and she always comes back home just delighted.

Therefore, we´re really planning to travel to London next summer.

First, we will search in Rynair’s website the plane timetable from Zaragoza to Stansted airport and we will buy the cheapest flight.

After, we will take the Stansted express train or bus to Liverpool Street, it will depends on their service times and there, in Liverpool Street, we will take a taxi to my sister’s home.

We would like to do a lot of things, but indeed we will have to choose some of them.

If the weather is good,  we will go for a walk around the main tourist places: Buckingham Palace, the Parliament, Trafalgar Square, Picadilly Circus, the river Thames… and we will eat and rest at High Park.

When the rain fell, we would visit some museums like The British Museum and also the inside of some historical and religious buildings such as Westminster Abbey or Saint Paul Cathedral, as well as we would like to see a musical: Billy Ellyot, the Phantom of the Opera, Shrek,… there are many musicals to enjoy!.

In addition, we want to know other English cities, for example Cambridge and Brighton, so we will hire a car to  get there.

And of course,  we will go  shopping in Oxford Street, Notting Hill, Harrods (here only for window-shopping, since it’s very expensive), and especially in Camden Market.  We like this market very much because you can find anything and you can meet  peculiar people.

In conclusion, although we don’t know if we will be able to go to London next summer, we like planning it and for sure we are going to do everything possible for going there.

Have you been to London?

What do you think about the city?

What did you like more?

Would you recommend to go there?
