The year 1 students are studying how the British went to America. They sailed a ship called the Mayflower in 1620. The Pilgrims were people who left Europe in search of a better life. They arrived into the new world and called their colony Plymouth. Besides, they met some Native Americans who helped them cultivate the land.
On Thanksgiving (the 4th Thursday in November) Americans get together with family and friends and eat turkey and other vegetables original from the New World such as corn, pumpkins or potatoes.

This year our students enjoyed a lot celebrating Halloween. The year 1 students prepared a Halloween play about some witches that were preparing a magic potion. The 3, 4 and 5-year-olds were a great audience and participated very actively in the play. After that, all the infants received the visit of some witches that gave them some candy and other treats. They also listened to some stories and played some very scaryyyyy games! The Year 1 students ate some chocolate with worms!!!! uhmmmmmm delicious!!!

Summer is near and the end of this school year, too. The 3-year-olds are reading a book about a dog called Spot who goes to the beach with his friends the hippo and the monkey. Spot takes his bucket, his spade and his rake and builds a castle with sand and seashells. At the end of the day, his mother prepares a picnic with sandwiches, apples, oranges and bananas. We love this story and we are learning new words in English!!!

Our 3 and 4-year-olds had a great time a few weeks ago because an amazing storyteller visited us. They listened to the story of a dog called Rainbow Roo, who was looking for the pot of gold at the other side of the rainbow. Our students enjoyed a lot saying the colours, singing songs and helping Rainbow Roo in his trip.
