ENGLISH CLASSES WILL FINISH 14th JUNE

Category: Comments Date 2012-06-09 18:25:25

Hi everyone,

English courses will end next Thursday 14 th June, but as every year it would be good to meet together the last day at the Adult Center to have dinner together here in the centre at the schoolyard (the three courses: Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced course) at 18'30 hours.

So, you can bring something to share, some food, something salty, something sweet, some drink or whatever you want, the question is to spend a good time and to speak a bit in English, in Spanish...

I really hope you can come, it doesn't matter if you are not at the English courses this year, I mean if you are an ex-student it would be good to see you again.

See you then,

Loli

Once Upon A Time...

Category: 3- Trips,Books, Cinema&Music Date 2012-06-04 18:07:27

Imagine that your neighbours could be different than they appears. So different as a Fairy Tale Character could be. Which character do you think they could be? Or even you, which Fairy-tale Character do you think that represents you in a better way?

Few time ago I discovered by a friend advice, a new Tv serie which goes a little further with the typical fairy tales that we knew when we were children, taking back to our society all these famous characters.

I found it very funny and fresh, and, at the same time I had a new opportunity to remember stories which I belived forgotten. Even if in the serie, stories are showed a little bit different...

Come on, take a look at the following videos and think for a while "Could it be happening?

And here, a little example about how diferent these Fairy Tales could be...

Cristina and Carmelo. Describing a past event.

Category: Intermediate 11-12 Date 2012-06-01 13:21:52

The last holidays I and my family went to  Italy in a cruiser.  We embarked in Barcelona the 24th August.

The first stop  was next to  Rome (in Civitavecchia). The travel  was very calm and agreeable.

It striked me very much to see the Vaticano. I loved the movement of the people in the Fontana de Trevis square. Everyone threw coins to the fountain and we did it, too.  Because the people say that if youthrow a coin, you´ll come back.

We continued the travel  visiting other amazing cities, for example, Palermo in Sicilia, Palma in Mallorca...

On board there  were a lot of activities for children and adults.  I have two girls of six and eight years old. They enyoyed very much in the disco and in the swimming pool.

In the ship there were a bingo,  a disco, bars, swimming pool, jacuzzi, several restaurants...  everything very luxurious.

After having returning from our holidays, we were surprised with the news on TV: Our ship, the "Costa Concordia"  sunk in the Italy  coast.

In fact, I was very sad.

Stories which grip you by Bea

Category: Intermediate 11-12 Date 2012-06-01 11:10:48

A few years ago one friend of mine told me: "Have you read these books? Do you like this kind of stories?" I thought, I didn't like this kind of stories because then I had bad dreams with them.

But one day it aroused my curiosity, and when I was pregnant I told to my sister-in-law: "Can you borrow me those books that you told me?"  Well, she lend me the books and I started to read them.  I spent all my free time reading the books, and if I had ten minutes free, I read in this time. I was really hooked on books, in fact the first book, had got about four hundred pages and I read it in... about three weeks, the second one was about five hundred pages and I read it in two weeks, and the third and fourth one, I read them in about one week with nearly six hundred pages each.

Thestory of the books was a love story between one boy and one girl, who came from different worlds. She felt that she was strange in her world, and she wanted to be in his world, because  that way they would be together all their lives. They were friends of some wolves. And they all together fought against some people who wanted to kill her. Finally love won, (and) they achieved to be together in the same world and they had a baby, half from her world and half from his world.

I knew,  there was a film for each book, and while I  was finishing each book I watched the film.  After reading and watching the books and films, I have come to a conclusion, "The books are better".

Do you know which books I am talking about?

Do you like love  story books? or Do you prefer another kind of books?
