Task 3.- SHOPPING

Category: Tasks 07/08 Date 2008-03-03 16:04:35

CUSTOMER:       Good morning. Can you help me, please?.

SELLER:              Of course, madam. What do you need?.

CUSTOMER:        I need to find a raincoat for my husband and I´d like that it´d be warm besides I´d prefer a waterproof.

SELLER:               Oh, yes!. Follow me, please.

CUSTOMER:        Thank you.

SELLER:               Please, what size do you want?.

CUSTOMER:        He needs a medium. Do you have it?.

SELLER:               Yes madam.  Here you are. You can choose among these four colours: green, beige, grey and black.  What colour do you like more?.

CUSTOMER:       Oh!,  the four ones are beautiful, but I think that this year the black one is in fashion.....Please, what is your opinion?.

SELLER:               I agree with you and although you are right, any of the four colours are very, very nice.

CUSTOMER:       Well, my husband will come at once and he´ll choose one. Where can he try it on?.

SELLER:              The fitting rooms are over there on the left, madam. Do you want anything else?.

CUSTOMER:        Yes, thank you Miss....(Reading the identification card) Morris. Would you also have a jumper like this, the brown one and the same size?  Medium, please.

After fifteen minutes, more or less......

SELLER:              How is it, sir?.

CUSTOMER:       The raincoat is fine, but the jumper doesn´t fit me well. It is loose. It´s a pity. We buy the raincoat only. How much is it?.

SELLER:               Its price was 500,55, but because January sales its price is 450 now.  Excuse me, please.  What colour do you like?.

CUSTOMER:        Oh, yes!. I like... yes, the black one. Thanks. Can I pay by creditcard or cash?.

SELLER:               You can pay as you want it, sir.  What do you prefer?.

CUSTOMER:         With Visa credit card, please. Here you are my identily card, too.

SELLER:                All is okay, sir. Can you sign in here, Mr. Smith, please?.

CUSTOMER:         Thank you very much and goodbye.

SELLER:                Goodbye and  see you soon Ms. and Mr. Smith.

                                                                                             M. Carmen.

Category: Tasks 07/08 Date 2008-03-02 20:32:00

We are flatmates and we are working together in the same bussines.

We get up at 7:00 and we have breakfast at 7:30, quickly we go to take the bus at 8:00 o'clock for going to work to Zaragoza because we live in La Puebla de Alfinden.

We stop 15 minutes for having lunch and when we finish  working, we go to take the bus and we go to eat to our house.

Soon after having dinner, we  have a two hour afternoon nap as we are two champions and when we get up we have an afternoon snack while watching a film.

Next we go to the gym and we do sport, we get a sauna and we go home for having dinner and finally we go to bed.

TASK 4.- Weekend in Vielha

Category: Tasks 07/08 Date 2008-03-02 19:31:32

Hello Laura !

I'm spending a weekend at the Vielha state-run hotel. This hotel lies in the Vall d'Arán, an area of incomparable beauty.

We get up early to have breakfast and so , and to walk through this area of the Pyrenees.

We enjoyed an "aranesa" seafood meal.

The hotel has an area of SPA, in the afternoon we get a relaxing massage. I hope to return very relaxed.

See you

LUCIA

TASK 4.- Summary about the cross-cultural enquiry Spain-Ireland

Category: Tasks 07/08 Date 2008-03-01 17:32:48

MEALS

In Spain, it recommends five meals: breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner. The mid-morning snack and the alternoon snack must be very light meals, also it recommends an early and light dinner.

In Ireland, it seems that breakfast and dinner are quite plentiful, and lunch very very light. I don't know if they have or not a tea-time.

According to the doctors the Spanish timetable for meals is healthier  than the Irish one.

BARS

The only difference between the two countries is when pubs, bars and restaurants are opened and closed, the rest is a question of money and endurance.

COFFEE TIME

In conclusion Spaniards have coffee at any moment of the day and in everywhere whereas the Irish people, I don't know what is the ideal time for coffee or tea, but they usually have it in a restaurant or a cafe.

TASK 4.- A DEEP INTERROGATION

Category: Tasks 07/08 Date 2008-02-28 20:29:56

Sorry for this interrogation but we have to do a job for our English class then we are going to ask you several questions.

Don’t worry, I’ll try to answer you as well as I  can; but I have to say to you that not all I'm going to say will be true, you have to guess it.

To start with this interview we would like to know if you work or not? It's totally different a schedule for a worker than for a person who doesn’t work.

Yes, I work seven days and after that I have got seven free-days.

It’s an interesting work schedule, not everyone works as you do.

Do you like studying languages?  How many languages do you speak?

TASK 4.- TRIP TO ROME

Category: Tasks 07/08 Date 2008-02-28 20:27:14

                                                                                                                28-02-08

Dear Jose,

We are in Roma this week, our flight has been very nice because we have started from Zaragoza and we haven´t gone to Madrid or Barcelona.

In Rome the bus has taken us to the hotel. The hotel is  wonderful, we are in the centre of the city in the Spain square.  The Spanish embassy is next  to our hotel. The weather is good during  the morning and evening but it is cold at night. The restaurants are crowded of Spanish and Japanese people and we all like Italian food: pasta and pizza.

Take care,
