As a general rule, when you are learning a foreign language or you want to keep all your knowledge about English language, you must do some activities that may help you to get it.

First of all, Spanish television has just passed away. Now, your favourite channel will be CNN news in its original version or BBC programmes. You can only see movies in English. Don’t forget to do your daily activities such as listening songs, radio programmes and surfing Internet, all in English, of course.

Forget your weekends at Spanish typical bars and discotheques. Now, you will go to Irish pubs and will speak English with natives. Besides, you will go to England, Ireland or a British territory every holiday, and will enrol some intensive course there. You mustn’t speak Spanish at all.

If you can follow all these tips, you will learn English easily, but if you cannot do it, you will be a typical Spanish, who will be studying English all his life. Do you agree with me?

Tips from my own experience

As far as I'm concerned,I agree with you! My first language is French and I'm bilingual in Spanich. I have been living in Spain for 10 years and I used to speak some words of Spanish in class, but when I had to speak Spanish in Spain, I realised that it was a big rusty! Let me give 2 tips, to improve a foreign language and end-up being fluent in it: listen to music trying to get the text of the songs by yourself and read as many books as possible!
